The 3 of us travel to NE

We traveled to NE this weekend for a bridal shower for Lexie. The trip started well with both kids asleep only 10 minutes into the drive. We were very prepared with snacks and DVDs. A little over an hour into the trip, Gracie woke up. She looked up at me and said, "I fink I went potty." If you know Gracie, then you know situations like this can quickly escalate with her. We stopped at the side of an exit to change clothes and switch car seats. (thank goodness for an extra!) Gracie told me, "I fink I need to potty some more." She has perfected going potty outside with a wide leg stance and is very proficient at being held to go potty. We decided to go with this option since then we wouldn't even need to get out of the vehicle. As I held her by the arms out the door, she went a lot more. (what did that girl drink?!?) As I pulled her back in she said, "Mommy, it's cold outside. I can't handle it!" After such a huge potty Gracie was parched. She took a big drink of water and said, "I took a big dwink down my bweath."

This trip was also made memorable by the fact that I was able to pass a semi-truck (twice) because of our stop for Gracie's potty break and another stop to change Ryker's shirt (he was very upset about spilling juice on it). The truck driver honked and waved every time we passed him. The sign on the side window said "Show me your hooters please." I considered it, I mean the sign said please and what a great example I would be setting for my kids, right? Maybe not.

We made it to Paxton at 7 pm and the kids were so excited to see cousin Griffin, Aunt Wexie, Pops, Mimi, Aunt Tawa, and Uncle Mitch. Mitch even stayed up a little late just to see them. They showered him with hugs, kisses, and love yous. And he was lucky enough to receive more a few hours later when they woke him up. Oops. They love little Griffin so much! Gracie says she loves him to the moon and stars and he's so tute and he likes to smile and eat. Ryker has to be pulled away from Griffin because we're afraid he might smother him and infest him with lots of little boy germs.

It's so fun to be back and see so many family members. The kids are pretty funny and we have a great time laughing at their antics. Dad calls them his two little hurricanes. Hopefully, our trip back to Coleton goes smooothly . . .

Hi Mandy! The trip in the car sounds so familiar/typical. Props to you for making the journey. I've been thinking about you guys lately, I'll try to send an email to stay in touch. Say hi to P-town for me. :)
