Boogers, Blessings, & Brownies

Ryker and Gracie were playing in Ryker's room and he came down with a gross green booger on his thumb and showed it to me. He had kept it perfectly intact all the way down the stairs. I asked him whose it was and he said it was Gracie's. Of course. She denied that it was hers. After further questioning, she did admit she sent her brother downstairs with the booger because she had gotten it out of her nose and was too busy to get rid of it.

Lexie and I use the phrase "bless your heart" to the kiddos often. As we were back in Cambridge visiting Coleton's family, Gracie used this phrase perfectly. Ryker was getting his jammies on, but didn't want Papa Wayne to help him. So Papa pretended sadness. Alas, Ryker gave in and Gracie said, "Bwess your heart, Wyker. Bwess your heart for lettin' Papa help you." It was so cute that I couldn't stop laughing. So Gracie humored me and just kept saying it.

I know Gracie loves brownies, but the girl must really, really love them because she has started to dream about them. I laid her down in bed the other night and she was mumbling, "Brownies, brownies . . . "

rYkEr's 2nd bDay!!!

What a fun day! It was so special to have so much family in town to help celebrate. So many fun friends to play with at Pirate's Cove! (We did miss some of our out-of-town family that couldn't make it though!) All in all, a very memorable day.

To Ryker on your 2nd birthday

Tonight I rocked you
Because you'll always be my baby boy
Because you're growing so big
My heart aches for time passing too quickly
My heart swells with pride at your sweetness
Tears of sadness
Tears of happiness

g-isms

Gracie: "I'm gonna wear these bad boys to the park!" (Referring to her beloved flip flops Aunt Mickey sent her for Easter.)

Gracie: "DAMNIT!!!" Said in a growly, deep voice and much too loudly. She used this word after spilling chocolate on her jammies and after being told no. After three timeouts, she's learned to say darnit or bummerooski.

Gracie is quite a little mommy these days. She successfully put Caleb's diaper on him one day. If one of the boys is upset she will say they are having a "meltdown." I think they learned this from the queen of meltdowns. Her favorite play is anything where she can imitate a grown-up. Ryker usually does whatever is asked of him. Sometimes he gets to be the dad, but sometimes he has to be the baby.

WeeWeeWycle

Hmmm, I think you're right, Ryker. That is a somewhat appropriate name for a motorcycle. Ryker's latest obsession. The word I hear hundreds of times each day.

Ryker is checking out one hectic room of about 10 girls getting ready before Lexie's wedding. Takin' it all in . . .
